Past Research
Field assistant, Bylot Island, Nunavut (2011) Project: Long-term monitoring of the Greater Snow Geese Population in the Canadian Arctic, and study of the migratory range During the summer of 2011, under the supervision of Dr. Gilles Gauthier (Laval University, Quebec city), I assisted a PhD candidate with field sampling for a long-term monitoring study of the Greater Snow Geese colony on Bylot Island, Nunavut. In the fall, I conducted a small independent research project under the supervision of Dr. Joel Bêty (Université du Québec à Rimouski). I used GPS data obtained from GPS collars on female snow geese to map the distribution of this species. |
Field assistant, Rivière des Escoumins, Québec (2010) Project: Catch-and-release effects on wild Atlantic Salmon reproductive success During the summer of 2010, I assisted a M.Sc. student under the supervision of Dr. Louis Bernatchez (Laval University, Quebec) with sampling of adult salmon's adipose fin for genetic analyses. I also collected alevins using electrofishing and assisted in the main steps of a telemetry survey on adults. Link: Louis Bernatchez |
Field assistant, Laurentides,
Québec (2008-2009)
Project: Habitat connectivity and characterization of biotic communities in rivers of the Laurentides region, Quebec
During the summer of 2008, I assisted a PhD student under the supervision of Dr. Daniel Boisclair (University of Montreal) in the visual sampling of fish communities in Laurentides rivers, by snorkeling along 100m transects.
In 2009, I contributed to the same project by characterizing macrophyte communities in the sites previously studied in 2008.
